I’ve been doing a lot of thinking lately about my past, and how I approached my life. I like to believe I’ve been rather successful, I’m not super rich or anything but well off, and able to live the life I want to live.
Why am I able to live the life I want to live? Entrepreneurship baby. Look, I’ve had many sleepless nights, and anyone who understands the grind being an entrepreneur you’ll understand exactly what I’m talking about. Push hard, and don’t stop when things get rough. There is always going to be ups and downs in life whether it’s business, school, sports, marriage, whatever it is you want, to earn it you will have to push for it.
When I was 22 years old I didn’t know any other entrepreneurs, so I wasn’t very well understood by my friends. My friends were very supportive don’t get me wrong, but they just couldn’t grasp the concept of why I woke up at 5 am every day, and why I couldn’t go out to every event. Now they completely understand it though, and a lot of them are doing it themselves, building their dream.
I would like to congratulate one of my best friends from my hometown: Timothy Rj Eveland, he has taken the path of becoming an author/entrepreneur and is currently going through the ‘little sleep phase.’ He has a goal in mind and is pushing to create content that pleases his readers enough to buy from him, and he’s going to do it with that drive. If you’d like to check him out his website is:
His content is mainly medieval fantasy stories, it is really awesome to see him doing it, and I may be biased because he’s my good friend but his writing is absolutely unreal. If you get a chance, read some of his short stories or something and give him a review, he loves feedback.
Wake up early and make the effort to do so, you wont regret it. Honestly if there’s one piece of advice I could offer to everyone no matter who you are, it’s get up early. Waking up at the hour that most people call you a crazy person for, actually isn’t that bad. Once you make the effort to get in motion and accomplish a task or two, before everyone average has even awoken, you will feel ahead of the game. Your brother, sister, spouse, room mate, whoever you live with will be waking up stumbling to the coffee pot, while your wide awake and already 3 hours into your goals for the day. You don’t really realize how much of a head start you get by waking up earlier than normal until you actually do it. When I was in high school I would wake up at 5 am, practice harmonica for half an hour, then do my homework that I didn’t do the night before, and I still got good grades AND was the best musician in my class. Yes those drums made way more noise and had way more impact, but I felt I was the most talented. Of course I wouldn’t say that to someones face but I quietly knew it; doing my best to stay humble.
What came from waking up at 5 am everyday?
I’m not here to toot my own horn or anything, only to lead by example and hopefully inspire some young people out there. Currently I am:
- A successful entrepreneur that doesn’t actually have to work anymore
- A talented musician, I play many different instruments
- A mechanic
- A bit of a tech nerd
- Pretty good at cooking
- An author in the works
- Still motivated to continue growing
This stuff does not take being naturally talented at anything, that helps, but it is not the reason one becomes great. One becomes great by pushing through the hard times and giving everything they got to what they choose to do.
Be the best you, because why not?
